Overview

This three-hour online workshop will introduce nurses to the purpose and scope of coaching and its fundamental principles and how to apply them in daily practice with service users/clients/patients. This workshop will be of interest to all health and social care professionals, including students on any health and social care programmes, public health practitioners, community-based practitioners, mental health professionals working in inpatient and community setting.

Course content

Whether you are a practitioner interested in improving your practice, this workshop will

help you learn:

  1. What is coaching, the purpose of coaching, its core principles, and benefits
  2. Learn about coaching agreements, the GROW model and goal setting and evaluation
  3. Learn what constates a quality coaching conversation within ethical principles underpinning the professional practice of coaching
  4. Learn when and how to use coaching as an intervention in your practice and gain awareness of when to signpost service users/clients for whom coaching might not be the best intervention.
  5. Observe a demo of a coaching session followed by a discussion and an action plan

Learning and teaching

Study mode: Synchronous online delivery via virtual classroom using one of the following web-based learning and teaching platforms (e.g. MS teams, Kaltura NewRow, Adobe Connect, Zoom).  The content on the day will be delivered via a mixture of PowerPoint presentation, small group exercise and discussion, group feedback and recap/quiz.

Fees and funding

There are several funding options available:

  • Receiving course fees via CPPD contracts between NHS trusts and 港彩全年历史图库
  • Paying your fees. This course is 拢55
  • Sponsorship by your employer (but not under a CPPD contract).
