We're here to support you throughout your university journey, from your first application to graduation and beyond. Remember to so we can support you from the start.
Do I qualify as an estranged student?
To be classed as an estranged student, you'll have to provide evidence to demonstrate the lack of contact. This can take the form of a letter from a doctor, teacher or other professional who knows about your situation.
The evidence will be assessed by Student Finance England and you will qualify if you're under 25 and have had no contact with your parents for a least a year before you start your course, and/or you can show that you will permanently have no contact with your parents.
Pre-entry support
We can help you move from sixth form/college to higher education. We offer advice and guidance on:
- Understanding your post-16 resources and
- Choosing a course and a university
- Student finance and budgeting
- Developing your transferable skills
- Stress coping strategies whilst at university

On-course support
After you've enrolled, we'll help you during your studies with:
- The ‘Getting Ahead’ induction event
- Full-time accommodation for the full duration of your course, if required
- Your academic support
- Student welfare including counselling sessions – get in touch with our team
- You will also continue to have a named contact for general support.
Financial support
