Requirements for master's, MPhil and PhD
Before you start your application, make sure your previous degree or work experience matches what we need.
Work experience and previous study
If you've already been working or have other learning experience relevant to your chosen course then we can count these towards your entry requirements and some modules when you begin your studies.

Master's degree requirements
We usually ask for a second-class honours degree 2:2 or above, or equivalent, in a subject that is relevant to what you want to study.
You must also check for course-specific entry requirements
MPhil and PhD requirements
- We usually ask for an honours degree at 2:1 or above or relevant professional experience.
- A master's degree in a subject relevant to the course you wish to study is desirable but it isn't always essential.
